Yeray Lemes (ESP), José Suárez (ESP) and Pontus Tidemand (SWE) have all contested the FIA’s junior series in previous years and are back focused on victory.
Now seven other competitors from around Europe join them, all intent on proving themselves on a global stage in their identical Ford Fiesta R2 cars, centrally supplied, prepared and maintained by M-Sport.
Every driver has his eyes set on the Junior WRC Champion’s prize of competing in a Ford Fiesta R5 on six rounds of the 2014 FIA WRC 2 Championship. Junior WRC drivers will score the five best results from a maximum of six rounds and entries for the Junior WRC remain open until Acropolis Rally which starts on 31st May.
Elfyn Evans (GBR), winner of the 2012 FIA WRC Academy (the predecessor of the Junior WRC), will also make his 2013 WRC debut in Portugal in a Ford Fiesta RRC. Elfyn is registered in WRC 2, as a junior member of the Qatar M-Sport World Rally Team.
